OTTONE

Ottone is a wooden bedside table with a strong personality. With its eager eyes it watches the world around him and guards your dreams, your objects and secrets stored inside the roomy drawer. It is a faithful companion for the night and a personal place on which to put the book you read to fall asleep. Starting from the idea of designing a “creature” the aim was to confer to an inanimate object aliveness and expressiveness. The design of the structure is based on oblique lines that communicate the sense of motion. Two holes on the front to open the drawer are two eyes which confer a somatic character: through exploring different sizes and positions of the holes it was chosen the right “face expression”. The structure is also designed to easily move the furniture across flexible life spaces. Ottone is designed to be easily packed and shipped in a small box, and simply assembled by the customer.
